In 2023, 9.2M (million) foreign tourists visited India.

Although this is still less than the pre-pandemic number of 10.9M in 2019, there is a significant rebound, with foreign tourist arrivals (FTAs) in 2023 surging 64% compared with 2022.

• Leisure Holiday and Recreation: 36.5%

• Indian Diaspora: 21.1%

• Business and Professional: 10.2%

• Medical: 7.4%

• Student: 0.6%

• Unknown: 7.7%

• Others: 16.5%
